Find a few examples that clearly are in synch with the music? Are there any movements in the video that is not in synch with the music?
In this track the main pulse is marked by a bass drum and an off-beat hi-hat. But there are also many examples of rhythmic patterns that pushes away from the main pulse. Listen to the bass line that starts at 0:09. Try to clap this pattern. This is called 3 against 2 (3 : 2), since there are 3 attacks during 2 beats. This is called a cross-rhythmic pattern (or polyrhythm, but it is not really polyrhythm since there is no doubt that the dual rhythm is dominant). This pattern is used a lot in popular music to make a groove. Find some examples and discuss if you find this pattern effective in producing a groove quality in music.
